AMY HANAUER is the Executive Director of the Institute on Taxation and Economic Policy, the premier policy research institute fighting for adequate and fair taxation. ITEP has a microsimulation model of the US tax code that describes who pays more or less for any proposed tax change, by income, race and ethnicity. This model give ITEP unique data that empowers researchers and advocates across the country as they promote better tax policy in statehouses. ITEP monitors corporate tax avoidance and, by documenting zero tax corporations, helped propel the 2022 corporate minimum tax that will raise hundreds of billions for climate change prevention and healthcare. As Executive Director, Amy provides vision and leadership to elevate accurate tax policy research. ITEP finds that progressive, adequate tax policies help deliver racial, economic and climate justice. Amy previously founded and ran Policy Matters Ohio, is board chair of The American Prospect magazine, and tweets from @amyhanauer.
